Policies

At Cat Sense Behavior and Training Services, we strive to provide professional, compassionate, and effective feline behavior support. Below are our key policies to ensure a smooth and successful experience:

📅 Scheduling & Cancellations

  •  Consults must be scheduled in advance.

  • Cancellations with at least 24 hours' notice may be rescheduled.

  • Cancellations within 24 hours of the appointment may be subject to a cancellation fee equal to the amount of the consult.

🏠 In-Home                    Consults

  • In-home consults require a quiet, low-stress environment for observation and discussion.

  • Please ensure all household members involved in the cat’s care are present if possible.

  • If an in-home consult needs to be rescheduled due to unforeseen circumstances, notify us as soon as possible.

  • In-home consults are offered within a 30-minute drive of Waterboro, Maine. If you require an in-home consult outside of the range a travel fee of $1 per minuet of travel time will be applied. 

💻 Virtual Consults (Zoom)

  • ​​A stable internet connection is required for virtual consults.

  • Ensure your camera and microphone are functional before the session.

  • Virtual consults follow the same structure as in-home visits, focusing on behavior assessment and modification strategies.

📜 Pre-Consult Requirements

  • A detailed behavior questionnaire must be completed and submitted before the consult.

  • Veterinary records will be obtained and reviewed prior to the session.Providing this information in advance ensures a more effective consultation tailored to your cat’s needs.

📄 Summary &             Follow-Up

  • Within three business days, you will receive a detailed write-up, including:

    • A summary of the consult

    • A customized behavior modification and training plan

    • Information on any recommended products

  • A copy of this report will also be sent to your veterinarian for their records.

  • Homework assignments are provided to reinforce training and behavior modification between check-ins.

  • Additional follow-up consults can be scheduled if needed.

  • Email support is available for brief questions following the consult.
